BASS: SWEET
Born 24 years ago in Aalst, Belgium, Soet has been playing electric bass guitar and upright bass for half his life.
Why did he pick up the bass? “By pure coincidence”, he claims.
Sweet holds a Master’s degree in Music, which he studied in Brussels, The Hague and Antwerp.
He loves all kinds of music, with a special interest in Joni Mitchell, John lee Hooker and Ethiopian singer Alemu Aga.
His best musical experience so far: the ‘free beat’ jazz of AAN/EOP, live.
Other bands Soet plays in, among many others, are Warm Bad and Gooddog.
What attracted him to the DJULES FMJ project? “DJULES’ dedication, the way he totally surrenders.”
Personal favorite DJULES track: “22 Tonnes, because the music came to us in such a spontaneous, carefree way. And because it makes my upright bass sound great!”
